Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the WiFi has been strong and reliable.

BuckNaked Marina is the nearest option for the types of items they offer.  For a grocery or convenience store, the nearest option will be in Cole Camp around 30 minutes (19 miles) away.

Check and see if your dates are available on the calendar and send us a note.

Yes.  We will have soap and shampoo for both showers.

BuckNaked and Katt’s Place are about 15 minutes away.  BuckNaked is also a marina so is likely the closest option for the types of items a marina sells.

The water off our dock typically maxes out at around 6′ and this level is pretty consistent across our cove.  As you get closer to the main channel, the depth obviously increases.  During the winter they bring the water level down to produce additional energy and in anticipation of spring rains so the water level can fluctuate quite significantly over the winter months.

Yes, we have window AC’s in both bedrooms of the main cabin and in the upstairs of the small cabin.  We have a mini split in the downstairs of the small cabin.  There are electric heaters serving both cabins as well as a wood stove in the main cabin.

Yes, the path is well defined.  It starts just in front of large cabin and leads you directly to our dock.  The path does cover some elevation, providing you free exercise during your stay.  For those that don’t want to take this path, you can opt to walk the gravel road down to our dock.

We do not have any electricity at the dock to be concerned with.  Charge your phones before coming down or bring a power supply down with you.

We should have all the pots, pans, knives, utensils, plates, cutting boards, etc., that you will need.  We will have salt, pepper and a pan spray as well.  Bring anything else you may need.

The property is on a septic system.  All that we ask is that you PLEASE do not flush anything that isn’t the toilet paper provided.  No, purchasing 1-ply TP wasn’t an accident or a budget decision.  This helps significantly with a smooth running septic system.  Thank you!

Cole Camp has a great golf course about 25 minutes away.  The city of Cole Camp also offers several restaurants and etc.

Yes, we have a stack of firewood near the firepit for guests to use.

We want to limit total occupancy to 11 people.  If someone does want to pitch a tent there is one place right above the driveway entrance of the main cabin.

No.  The last 5 miles are on gravel roads and the final 1/4 mile is on a little narrower gravel road and inclining.  We have had all makes and models out here and no one has struggled.

Yes. We have floodlight cameras off the front of both cabins.  These are for security reasons only.

Yes.  We have a propane grill and propane.

Yes, we have a coffee maker and #4 filters.  Just bring your own coffee.

We have the 5-Star pest control program with Steve’s Pest Control and they do a great job.  But, you are visiting a cabin in the woods and some may find their way across the barrier.  We strongly recommend keeping yourself regularly treated with bug repellent.

The refrigerator/freezer in the large cabin is a step down from your normal household unit.  We get by fine with it but if you have a large amount of items you are bringing, we might suggest packing a cooler as well.  There is not an ice maker but there are ice trays.  The small cabin has a small dorm type refrigerator.

PLEASE do not smoke in either of the cabins.  We ask that you smoke outside and properly dispose of your butts.

We have TV’s on the lower levels of both cabins, as well as one hung on the wall for viewing from the front porch or fire pit.  We do not have cable and only use streaming services.  These services can be finicky so it is recommended you login with your own credentials to your preferred service.

Yes.  Give us as much notice as you can because we have a small aluminum boat that typically lives at our dock.  Our dock well is 10′ x 20′.  There is an area to put your boat in about 10 minutes from our place.  They charge $2 a day (self-pay) and you can leave your vehicle there.
